My Philosophy

Swimming is much more than just a sport; it’s a life-saving skill, a way to build confidence, and a pathway to endless adventures in the water. My journey in teaching swimming is deeply rooted in the belief that everyone, especially children, should be comfortable and skilled in the water. It’s not just about the strokes but about fostering a lifelong relationship with water that can transform into a passion or even a competitive pursuit.

My Experience

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of introducing countless young swimmers to the joys of swimming. My approach is centered on the fundamentals, ensuring each child not only learns how to swim but also understands water safety and enjoys their time in the pool. It’s incredibly rewarding to see many of my students advance to compete in summer swim leagues and school swim teams, and at the collegiate level.

I’m proud to say that my coaching journey extends to the Mountain Island Charter School swim team, where I’ve had the joy of nurturing young talents and watching them grow not just as swimmers but as confident individuals ready to take on the world.

Personal Life

When I’m not poolside, I’m a dedicated mother to two amazing girls, Riley and Avery Dunn. They share my love for the water, competing in summer swim leagues and school swim teams. They inspire me every day to be a better coach and mentor, not just for them but for every child I have the pleasure of teaching.

By profession, I’m a Data Scientist at Bank of America, where I apply my analytical skills to solve complex problems. This experience has taught me the importance of patience, precision, and perseverance—qualities that I bring to my swim lessons and coaching.
